Its finally time to start our South East Asia trip beginning in Bangkok, Thailand. Whatever was coming with us had to fit into 2 big backpacks and 2 carry-ons. What you see below is essentially all of the clothing we own except for a little bit of winter and hiking clothing that we left in Babylon.
We took a red eye on Qatar Air from JFK to Doha, Qatar then to Bangkok. The airline provided great service, good food, toys for the baby and a clean plane. To my pleasure, they even gave us Haagen Dazs chocolate ice cream before landing.
The baby was very well behaved. Over the course of our 22 hour trip, he played on his iPad, ate food, slept, and repeat. When he has his iPad, nothing else matters and life is good.
After the long flight we landed at Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok and quickly went through customs, got our bags and went out to find our friend who came to meet us. It was so welcoming to see the familiar face of Bob Fisher towering over the sea of people in arrivals. He’s an amazing friend, as good as they come. We all grabbed a taxi and headed to our apartment in Asoke for some much needed rest from the long journey.
